@adipsal Also, I should say thanks to you: Your various posts around neurodiversity issues have me a lot of food for thought - led to my own diagnosis for autism this past year! 🧠
@adipsal Yes, pretty much. I haven’t posted here for a long time - funny that I now only come back to post as the whole thing collapses. I’ve been gathering the Mastodon links of any friends and comrades who are migrating to the elephant site. 🦣
@adipsal Now Twitter management has apparently locked all the various offices saying they’ll reopen on Monday. Reporters saying that a lot of very important teams basically no longer exist.
@adipsal Elon made his ‘ultimatum’ email (‘anyone who doesn’t reply yes to this email and accept the need to be HaRdCoRe and work crazy hours by 5pm is automatically let go with 3 months severance’) and apparently something like 75% of the remaining half of the staff have now noped out.
Guess it might be time to repost this: anyone who wants to stay in touch can throw me a follow on Mastodon: @[email protected]
If only Elon had spent more time studying some of the classics; things might have turned out differently:
So I basically stopped posting to this account a good while back for various real-life reasons , though I’ve still hung around reading all your tweets and catching up with news.
For anyone migrating I’ve set up a Mastodon account: [email protected] .
@stavvers Mastodon has been a learning curve and has a lot of rough edges, but one thing I do like is that it hasn’t (yet) been infested with that exact kind of digital marketing you mention. It’s nice to be somewhere that isn’t constantly pouring marketing dollars into my eyeballs.
@Arbeit_Fish It looked a lot different before they whacked a bloody great east wing across the front of it in the mid-1800s. Also, that's where Marble Arch used to live.
I don't know how long it'll be till I'm regularly tweeting again, much less doing actual organising. But I'm focusing on getting better, building myself up again and hopefully you'll see me out there fighting again.
So I just wanted to post an apology here to anyone who has been trying to get in touch with me regarding organising or related things these past few months. I'm only now beginning to come out of my second period of organiser burnout and it's been tough.
And secondly, respect and love those who are going through burnout - our struggle is hard and it can take a toll. Remember that those who have to step back are not weaker, or lazier, or less-committed - they've simply given all they can give for the time being.
