No clip-in shoes. No spandex kit. Just a middle-aged guy in Blundtstones, with a laptop bag over my shoulder, on part of my daily trip to/from work. Because it’s faster than the bus. Because it’s cheaper than operating and parking a car. And yes, because it makes me feel good.
When I drive, I’m in a rolling upholstered chair, sheltered, heated and air conditioned, with music playing, protected by a metal frame and airbags.
Yes, I’ll take a minute or two longer if it makes somebody more exposed safer and provides them with a better route.
