Where Francis was anti-institutionalist, Leo is an institutionalist. Where Francis was unafraid of viewing the liberal West critically, Leo is close to it. Where Francis read history and colonialism (the middle east) radically, Leo does so cautiously.
There is a bishop in Peru who was born January 01 and has the middle name Circuncisión in honour of our Lord’s circumscision and I think that’s beautiful
Things that scare me:

-Unemployment

-Never falling in love
-Getting married
-Never getting married
-Having kids
-Not having kids
-Living
-Dying
When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.
These particular words of Pope Leo called out to me greatly today:
"We must not allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by the pace of a world that does not know what it is chasing. Rather, we must return to serving the rhythm of life, the harmony of creation and healing its wounds."
In your laughter and your weeping,
In your song and in your sadness,
When you work and when you rest,
Be you coming, be you going,
Be you healed or yet in sorrow,
Press the Cross upon your breast.
- St. Bonaventure (Laudismus de Sancta Cruce, § 13)
Lead me not into resentment, but a new world. Im not going to make move to spite you, I will lay down arms. I will lay down arms, and feel you in the breeze, evergreen, evergreen.
Reciprocity, not something I care for, but to not let me love you, thats tough.
You didn’t need to love me back, but just don’t make me stop.
Give me peace I don’t need a piece anymore.
You are free girl and so am I
Cause what am I to do now, someone new, i’ll only be looking for you
See im not even mourning a break up, but the end of my cup
If i could drunk text it was always you, you, didn’t you see, you
That was your name, your beautiful name.
Not one im likely to utter again
Now I have to spend my days looking at evergreen trees, but not see you
How could I not, you were in my thought
But it truly was beautiful, a woman to bring me out of myself, i can only thank you
