I used to be MAGA. And I remember when the Left would call MAGA a cult, and I would laugh at them.

I’d throw it right back at them. I’d say, “If anybody is in a cult, it’s you guys.” I’d bring up COVID, the vaccines, “following the science,” and how people were blindly believing whatever the government was telling them.

I genuinely believed I was the one questioning everything.

But here’s the part I never expected to admit: I was wrong.

Because somewhere along the way, MAGA became exactly what I thought I was fighting against.

People who spent years saying, “Don’t trust the government. Question everything. The media is lying to you.” are now willing to believe almost anything the government tells them—as long as the people in power have an “R” next to their name.

And honestly, watching people justify the suffering and killing of innocent people because they’ve decided their side can do no wrong was a wake-up call for me.

That’s when I realized this isn’t about Democrats vs. Republicans anymore.

It’s about whether you’re willing to think for yourself when the people you support are wrong.

I don’t care if it’s the left, the right, MAGA, Democrats, Republicans, the government, the media, or anyone else.

If you stop questioning your own side because you’ve decided they’re incapable of being wrong, you’ve stopped thinking critically.

And yeah… I used to be part of that.

So when I hear someone call MAGA a cult now, I don’t get offended anymore.

I understand exactly why they say it.

Because I was there.

Wanted to come on since I had seen some posts circulating about my Midterms Prediction article. I published the wrong draft of my midterm predictions article on Substack last night. It was an old draft I started weeks ago, before everything with Shawn Ryan happened. I updated the numbers and graphics this week, then accidentally hit publish on the old file.

I caught it within 20 minutes and took it down. I was on a flight, so the corrected version took a bit longer to go up, but it was live before the screenshots and posts started circulating. It has a note at the top showing what changed. If you read it in your email, please use the link instead.

For anyone who missed it, the piece is my predictions for who I think will win and why. It was meant to be fun and to get people talking, not report on what is happening.

The mistake is mine, and I own it and I immediately unpublished it and corrected it. If you ever spot something wrong in my work, tell me and I’ll fix it.
