I’ve started going back through old cottage videos and keep finding Nisha there beside the music.
Here she is on the left, close by as always, while I play a slow version of Turlough O’Carolan’s Bridget Cruise.
Cello, garden, sunshine, and the small black dog who was so often part of it all.
On this day in history, the iconic Golden Gate Bridge welcomed its first travelers.
The bridge opened to pedestrians on May 27, 1937, and to vehicles the next day, becoming one of the most recognized landmarks in America.
Today, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area serves as the gateway to where visitors can explore scenic trails, beaches, historic sites, wildlife viewing, biking, paddling, and sweeping Pacific Ocean views.

In the early morning dawn on May 21, 2026, soldiers of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (@USArmyOldGuard) marched into Arlington National Cemetery (ANC), their rucksacks packed with small American flags.
Memorial Day in May is a time to honor and remember those who gave their lives while serving in the U.S. military. It’s more than a long weekend; it’s a solemn moment to reflect on sacrifice and the values protected through service.
Many national parks and historic sites preserve monuments, memorials, battlefields, and cemeteries that commemorate military service and the stories of those who served throughout our nation’s history.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
*Although manatees are usually really chill, something like #CincodeMayo & #TacoTuesday can get them up to speed of 20mph in short bursts! This video was recorded with our stationary underwater cam witnessing a group of them startled and taking off quickly*
#OnThisDay 53 years ago in 1973, #Secretariat, the greatest racehorse to ever live, won the 99th @KentuckyDerby at Churchill Downs. Secretariat set the Derby record of 1:59.4 for 1 1/4 miles on dirt that stands to the present day. #HorseRacing 🐐 📸: Bloodhorse
Superb image of the ‘White House’ ruins in the Canyon de Chelle, Arizona, captured by photographer Timothy H O’Sullivan over 150 years ago. The canyon was occupied by the Navajo for centuries and is one of the longest continuously inhabited landscapes in North America
You wake up, unzip your tent, and find bear tracks leading straight to your campsite. 😲
