If the umpire had correctly called a swing and miss on Volpe, then Verdugo’s ground ball would have been the third out.

It would be, and should be, 6-4 right now.

But getting a basic call correct is too much to ask of MLB umpires in the World Series.

@MLB @Yankees @MLB I was initially against using machines to call balls & strikes. But after this postseason, especially the World Series, I am 100% for it. These umpires behind the plate have been terrible. Totally inconsistent and flat out blowing calls. These guys are “Professionals”???
