One was my high school sweetheart. He passed away from brain tumor. That was traumatic. We dated from freshman year til 19 years old.
My second ex was a really good boyfriend and wanted to get married but didn’t like kids. He thoughts kids were annoying. He had no desire to reproduce. His family was very liberal minded. He was French. Every time I tried to break things off he’d plan a trip somewhere around the world and then I’d feel guilty bc he spent so much so I felt like I had to go. Eventually I told him I had to block him so i could move on. Or else he’d keep doing nice things and keep me feeling guilty. I wasn’t in love with him anymore, the no-kid thing turned me off.
After a few months of blocking him I met my husband. I was making more $$ than my husband when i met him. But I loved that we had the same Catholic values and he was my type in every way. He told me his dreams and his goas and I believed in him. I told him I wanted to cut back hours on my business so I could be a mom. He liked the idea. Wanting to start a family motivated him to move up his career. About 1-2 years later he was making over 6 figures. We got married, bought a home, and have 2 kids.
@SuifutoRemon@pcosprincess22 No. Women like things they find pretty. She likes it. Same way men like sports or cars etc. unless you’re totally devoid of a personality.
1) she does not look ugly. 2) I never said I didn’t take his opinion in consideration. Of course, I do, but I will also consider something that makes me happy.
You’re going to extremes here.
I have been married 7 years and every year my husband and I grow closer and closer together. To make a marriage work, yes, you do become one. And also the other person should have a level of freedom or else resentment will build and that is where most marriages begin to fail. You have to have room to breathe.
You’re never going to agree with another human 100% of the time. If that’s the expectation then you’re doomed to an unhappy marriage or it will end.
You have to let the person still do the things that bring them joy.
I have never had a tattoo on my body, I don’t drink, smoke, or anything like that. I like my body to be pure. My husband has tattoos, drinks on the weekends, and smokes weed recreationally on occasion. Do I like those things? Not really, but I also don’t nag him about it. I’ve respected those are things that he enjoys.
It’s better to focus on the positives, he’s a great husband, a great father, loves Christ, goes to church with me, he’s romantic, funny, hot 😍, works out, likes to be healthy and athletic with me, and takes care of me & the kids. An amazing family man. Our core values align and he makes me happy.
He’s my dream guy tbh… so am I going to let tattoos be a moment of contention in our marriage? No. When he wants a new tattoo, do I like it? Not really, but I’ve accepted those things make him happy. I don’t want him to feel trapped in our marriage bc he’s unable to do those things that he likes. It’s not hurting anyone. He’s still a great husband. He’s still an amazing husband. Vice versa, I’d like the freedom to do little cosmetic enhancements that make me happy.
@MandalorianGe0@pcosprincess22 The only mistake I see is her recording it and making his reaction a public moment. Aside from that, she is free to do whatever modifications she wants to do.
