@DavenportFogel @jacoobaloo@augustAP12 I mean, you’d have to rebuild the elevated guideway anyways as well as the turn underneath the Stouffville line anyways if you’re converting it to LRT standards
@jacoobaloo@augustAP12 To be honest I’ve really gotten behind the idea of converting the SRT to GO service. With fare integration you kinda have the best of both worlds. A one seat ride to Downtown at lower costs though probably at slightly lower headways.
After being in Munich for a week, I'm now a firm believer that regional rail is the next truly transformative transport mode for cities, even more so than the highway or metro: 1/
@DeanTester The media is over-focused on NIMBYs in transit expansion too. E.G... Forget that the Ontario Line will move 388,000 people daily and through North America's 4th largest city. Yet, give most bandwidth to a collection of homeowners along parts of the line who don't want the change.
"It’s a no-brainer. This is a corridor that Metrolinx needs to serve" Fantastic article about the need for better transit options to connect Waterloo and Hamilton. Key quotes from @Sean_YYZ & @bmdoucet (Paywall)
