At the #Cairo Ministerial Conf. on #Gaza, there was consensus on the urgent need for unimpeded humanitarian aid to address the catastrophic situation in the Strip. The @ICRC fully supports this call and reiterated the centrality of #IHL

We also reaffirmed the protection of civilians, civilian infrastructure, and hospitals under #IHL. Medical facilities must remain sanctuaries to preserve human life

(II) The scale of needs in #Sudan requires a combination of basic and complex humanitarian responses

Here, a complex intervention in the water system, with a positive impact for 54K households

Kudos to @ICRC_Sudan for making this possible in the midst of #conflict and violence

In Al Geneina, West Darfur, we restored the town's biggest water station, damaged by the conflict. Through setting up a solar-powered system, the water supply has been restored to 54 thousand displaced persons and residents. #Sudan
