In 2022, UNICEF co-financed Belarusian "summer camps" that hosted Ukrainian children from occupied territories, according to an investigation by Radio Svoboda's "Skhemy."

The UN Fund, in collaboration with the Belarusian Red Cross, organized the placement of children in the Berezka and Lipki camps. For teenagers, they held meetings with police officers, organized trips to the training ground and even concerts with Russian patriotic songs

The Ukrainian ombudsman says that UNICEF no longer finances such programs. Journalists contacted the organization's representative office in Belarus for comment, but received no response.

Photos from the camps' social media accounts reveal what happened at these "children's camps."
