“Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For what things a man shall sow, those also shall he reap. For he that soweth in his flesh, of the flesh also shall reap corruption. But he that soweth in the spirit, of the spirit shall reap life everlasting.”
Galatians 6:7-8
I truly think it’s shameful how high school coaches don’t go watch their kids play AAU. You could see things from a different lens and learn a lot about your kids. Kids deserve better.
Alexander Central boys basketball coach Ed Wills is stepping down after 19 seasons and will take a new role as assistant principal at the school.
Wills resigns with a record of 284-201 and is the school's all-time wines leader. His teams won three regular-season titles (2011, 2015, 2021) and three conference tournament titles (2016, 2021-22).
Four of his 19 teams won at least 20 games and 14 made the playoffs.
“I am thankful for the players, managers and assistant coaches who have been a part of our program over the last 19 years,” Wills said. “Their hard work, dedication and sacrifice have created lifelong memories and friendships for me, and I hope for them too. I have been blessed by incredible loyalty from our former players, and that means so much to me.”
Congrats to all the players that made the first cut. Who needs to make the Final Cut & play in the WNC ALL STAR GAME? Seniors only, 828 schools only. #828update
