Today, TUGSA members finished voting on the Tentative Agreement reached with @TempleUniv on Friday. Membership voted over 92% to REJECT the agreement with over 83% of the membership voting. As a result, the strike will continue. We are ready to bargain tomorrow.

Graduate students at Temple University have faced retaliation for going on strike and asserting the radical notion that they should make a living wage, receive decent benefits, and get dignity on the job. I stand in strong solidarity with the workers of @TUGSA_6290.
Today students received an email from admin stating they “recognize the key role” TAs & RAs play in helping the university operate. Let’s see @TempleUniv recognize that via paying us a higher wage instead of hiring scabs! #TempleUnionMade#TUGSAstrike
While getting my Masters, I remember the feeling of wanting to change the world while also taking care of myself.
That’s what @TUGSA_6290 wants.
I’m calling on @TempleUniv to negotiate in good faith and provide adequate support to these current learners and future leaders.
"I have interacted with a student who, seeing the minimal parental leave, purposefully scheduled her C-section during school breaks. I spoke to an international student whose salary and healthcare costs forced him to send his daughter to live with her grandparents in India."
Temple University said it will no longer cover tuition for 150 graduate students who have been on strike at the Philadelphia campus since the end of January. https://t.co/65Lhlkpffc
In a highly anti-labor industry to do something unprecedented means you have to do something really awful. This is exactly that. Solidarity to @TUGSA_6290 and all grad workers.
Appalling that Temple would retaliate against @TUGSA_6290 workers for pushing for better benefits and working conditions.
Donate to the union's strike fund if you can: https://t.co/90mqROYIMi https://t.co/ghD5hSdu3o
.@TUGSA_6290 ‘ s fight is Philadelphia's fight, labor’s fight, and our students’ fight. It’s time that graduate workers made a living wage. #TempleUnionMade
Without fair wages and benefits, @TempleUniv‘s programs can’t remain competitive, and that does a disservice to their students. I stand with @TUGSA_6290 in support of a fair contract. https://t.co/kXJnH3SNOw
I proudly stand in solidarity with @TUGSA_6290 workers on strike.
The union way of life is sacred. It’s long past time for Temple to come to the table & provide these workers with a good contract, fair pay, and better benefits.
As of this morning, TUGSA is on strike at @TempleUniv. After bargaining for over a year, Temple still refuses to meet our demands of a living wage, dependent healthcare, longer leave, and better working conditions. We’re ready to bargain: is admin? #TUGSAstrike#TempleUnionMade
“We don’t live on our reservation. We survive on our reservation. People snowed in for days are burning clothes in their wood stoves because they're out of wood. We’re in serious need of some help.”
