“A good life is not merely one indefinitely extended through meticulous attention to bodily wellness, but one spent in community and with joy.” @malcolmguite

@DaultRadio Related to the talk a bit more: no triumphalist Christ message in the “hero” story, but a kind of “hero” that births people, unites people, and, from “Space Crone”, has lived the cycles of life and rebirth.
@DaultRadio At first reading, I’m interested in the implications for a reading of Xn theology: Christ is killed by the very instruments of the “hero” story; then, track forward a bit and the “carrier bag” here is now the side wound.
Sorry that’s not totally related to the talk though!
@megievalist Watched the first but not the second half. Very fun. I love how he both seems to talk down to the pope but also recognize the pope’s “sphere” is a distinct one from his. He’s not his equal but still deserving of some measure of respect it appears.
Listen in on @malcolmguite talking about the burden of being disenchanted and believing there is no meaning in the world.
