Audited ITR Date Extension Expected Today
Message by ITPA Amritsar President, CA Gaurav Gupta ji
Just now, the Honourable Punjab & Haryana High Court strongly reprimanded the counsel of CBDT for non-compliance with the extension order issued by the Honourable Gujarat High Court.
However, the Honourable Court has adjourned the hearing only till 1:45 PM today and directed the counsel to ensure that the extension order is issued by then.
The Court observed that if the due date has still not been extended, it amounts to clear contempt of the High Court’s order.
The CBDT counsel attempted to seek more time by stating that the matter is currently under consideration with the CBDT Chairman.
