Hi just dropped in to say that Team Deakins is by 100 miles the best movie interview podcast now running.
Will go out on a limb and say it is Hollywood's Chai With Chitraa.
Also Roger Deakins, so what's not to like.
Latest episode: Ron Howard.
Humility is overrated and is probably the greatest performance put up by many artistes.
I don't think many people who create art are humble by choice. And they needn't be.
It is beautifully ironic how we like to exalt someone but only till we are the ones doing it. If someone turns around and says they are extremely proud of what they have created and think they are truly great, we want to kick them to the curb and show them their place.
Why?
Again, I'm not saying I haven't ascribed to this school of thought in the past or, at times, even the present... But if someone thinks they are great, then so be it. A greater piece of art will always find its way, but we are wasting precious amount of our time and resources to pull people down just because we think humility is the currency to gain everlasting legacy.
Artistes are creating art that will stand the test of time and will be known beyond their times, my times and even further. Why should they even be humble? Stifling artistes to conform to ever-changing rules of the society has always been the biggest bane of artistic appreciation.
Humility, more often than not, is a facade. I'll take pride before fakery. Every single day.
am afraid people overlook an important life lesson MANNAN (1992) offers : instead of going behind love-give, set your boyfriend free so that he will go and domesticate your boss and you can take over her job and get ahead in your career.
Namma #RajkumarPeriasamy's debut film was the terrific #Rangoon...
While I genuinely feel #Om will be a unique experience, I can't help but think of a what if Rajkumar was going the #PrashanthNeel way, taking elements from his debut film, upscaling it on multiple levels to give a grander film.
Ugramm became Salaar...
Rangoon could have very well become Om...
Again, I know it isn't the case... But having #Mammootty okay Burma Karthikeyan, #Dhanush playing a sort of right hand man with a plan, etc...
Chumma solli veippom...
@iwish___icould Checked out a bit more of Venkat's work, and he's also done a voice impression of Manoj Bharathi... Nalla talenta irukaaru... Glad @kdthecomic shared his video
Just curious... Has anyone ever heard someone mimicking Top Star Prashanth's voice in any of the mimicry shows?
Kaalaila yaen indha yosanai vandhuchu nu therla, but here we are anyway...

Oh yes. It was my 25th. Parents had to console me and thought going for dinner at Pondy Bazaar Saravana Bhavan's Rangoli restaurant was a good idea...
They were right.
