The Shiromani Akali Dal, at a meeting of its senior leaders in Chandigarh today, demanded the immediate implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the country.

The Shiromani Akali Dal draws inspiration from the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, who championed the dignity, equality and equal rights of women. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (@SGPCAmritsar) has already set an example by providing for women’s reservation in its House.

After detailed deliberations on key issues before Parliament, the Shiromani Akali Dal also demanded a fair and equitable Delimitation that ensures equal representation to all States.

The Shiromani Akali Dal supported the proposal which was put up by Govt of India at the floor of the house of uniform increase of 50% of seats of all states. The party emphasised that women reservation and Delimitation should be done immediately.

ਅੱਜ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਬਾਦਲ ਸਾਬ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਤੀਜੀ ਬਰਸੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਭਾਵੁਕ ਹੈ। ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਰਦਿਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਦਿਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਬਾਦਲ ਸਾਬ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਬੂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ-ਪਿੰਡ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਗਲ਼ੀ, ਹਰ ਮੁਹੱਲੇ ਤੇ ਹਰ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਫੈਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਫੈਲੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।
ਅੱਜ ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਤਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਨਿਘਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਹਰ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਾਸੀ, ਹਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਤੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਹਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਚਿੰਤਤ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਬਾਦਲ ਸਾਬ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਗ਼ੈਰ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਤੀਬਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ, ਸਹਿਣਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਤੇ ਦੂਰਅੰਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਸੋਚ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਔਕੜ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਤਲਕੀਫ ਬਾਰੇ ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ, ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਲਈ, ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਲਈ ਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਅਮਨ, ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ, ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਸਾਂਝ, ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਥਕ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਭਣ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬੁਲੰਦੀ ‘ਤੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉੱਚੇ ਮਿਆਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ, ਮੈਂ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੱਚਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਧ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੰਥ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਪਲ ਜੁਟੇ ਰਹਾਂਗੇ।
ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਯੋਗ ਬਾਦਲ ਸਾਬ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਸੀ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਨ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਭੇਂਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Strongly condemn CBSE's decision to drop Punjabi from regional languages in the 2025-26 curriculum. Punjabi is our mother tongue, spoken and read across various states and many countries worldwide. This attack on our mother tongue will not be tolerated, and @Akali_Dal_ will strongly oppose this move. We demand its immediate restoration and urge all Punjabis to join hands in this fight.
Let me remind you @BhagwantMann, your silence on this blatant attack is being seen as complicity. Take a cue from the Telangana Government, which has made Telugu mandatory in all schools, including CBSE-affiliated ones. When will you stand up for Punjab's rights, Mr. Puppet CM?
