International Yoga Day 2026 at AVNL OFMK, Yeddumailaram
Today, the 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sarath Yoga Centre, AVNL OFMK Estate, Yeddumailaram. The event witnessed active participation from officers, employees, residents, unions, JCM, Works Committee, and various associations of AVNL-OFMK.

International Women’s Day 2026 Celebration at AVNL-OFMK
AVNL Ordnance Factory Medak (OFMK), celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm . The event was led by Shri S S Prasad, Chief General Manager with Smt. Manushi Sinha, Chief Manager, SBI, Eddumailaram Branch, Smt. G Jahnavi Krishna, Branch Head, Union Bank of India, Eddumailaram branch & Smt. Sandhya Pallapu, Service Manager SBI, Eddumailaram Branch as the Guest of Honor. In his address, Shri S S Prasad, Chief General Manager emphasized the significant contributions of women in the workforce and their role in shaping a progressive and inclusive organization. Smt. Manushi Sinha delivered an insightful speech on balancing personal and professional life, encouraging women to pursue their ambitions while maintaining well-being and also briefed about various schemes and banking facilities, with special emphasis on those designed for women. Smt. G Jahnavi Krishna delivered a speech highlighting the importance of women empowerment and their significant role in society. They also felicitated women sportspersons, recognizing their achievements and dedication. As a mark of appreciation, gifts were distributed to female employees, including contract employees and trainees, acknowledging their hard work and commitment.

Big leap for indigenous defence innovation
Shri. Sanjay Dwivedi, IOFS, ndc, Chairman and Managing Director, Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited inaugurated the state-of-the-art Design & Development Center at AVNL Ordnance Factory Medak in the presence of Shri. Satyabrata Mukherjee, Director/OPS and Shri. Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Director/Finance boosting next-gen R&D and strengthening India’s #AatmanirbharBharat defence ecosystem. The Centre will drive advanced R&D fulfilling the vision of AVNL "to be a world class Armoured Vehicles Manufacturer for the Indian Army and Para Military Forces and a trusted Global Brand for domestic and International customers.

The Ordnance Factory Medak (a unit of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited - AVNL) celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on 26th January 2026 at Sarath Stadium. Shri S.S. Prasad, IOFS, Chief General Manager, presided over the event as the Chief Guest. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief General Manager, followed by an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of Republic Day and the contributions of employees to the nation's progress. The program included an impressive Guard of Honour and vibrant cultural performances by school children from the AVNL estate, showcasing their talent and creativity. As part of the event, awards were presented to recognize outstanding contributions and achievements: Awards for Meritorious Students from the AVNL estate and nearby villages were presented, encouraging academic excellence.

During the study visit of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour, Textiles & Skill Development held at Hyderabad on 20 Jan 2026, the status of Contractual Employment and implementation of New Labour Codes in Ordnance Factory Medak, AVNL was reviewed by the Committee.The meeting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Hon’ble Shri Basavaraj Bommai, MP, along with other Hon’ble Members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. From the AVNL side, Shri Sanjay Dwivedi, CMD, Shri Sandeep Salve, GM/HR and Shri S. S. Prasad, CGM and other officials of OFMK participated in the meeting.

As part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2025, AVNL OFMK carried out an intensive cleanliness drive by cleaning the open drain behind the Senior Staff Club on 13 December, reinforcing our commitment to a clean and healthy township environment.

AVNL Ordnance Factory Medak conducted the annual flotation trials of Infantry Combat Vehicles (BMP-II and its variants), indigenously manufactured at its Yeddumailaram facility in Sangareddy. The trials were held at Malkapur Lake (Pedda Cheruvu) on 12th December 2025, under the supervision of Shri S.S. Prasad, Chief General Manager, AVNL OF Medak. Officers from DGQA establishments and the User Directorate attended the event.

The flotation trials, conducted annually, validated the amphibious capability and terrain-handling performance of ICVs, ensuring their reliability in diverse battlefield conditions.

As part of Swachhata Pakhwada (01–15 Dec 2025), a Swachhata Pledge was administered today at 10:00 AM by the Chief General Manager at the Admin Portico. Divisional Officers led the pledge in all production shops, with mandatory participation of all employees. A March Past/Rally was also conducted at 06:15 AM from Ordnance Senior Club to the Admin Building, with enthusiastic participation from officers, employees, works committees, JCM, unions, and associations, promoting cleanliness and collective responsibility.
