Mammatus clouds (or mammatocumulus, meaning "mammary cloud"). Caused by cold air sinking down to form pockets below the cloud. Often associated with a hail storms. Just trying to keep abreast of the weather (pun intended). Seen 4/24/25, 7:06pm, Centennial, CO. #cowx

So....the past 24 hours have been amazing for snowflakes. The start of the season was quiet...but finally perfect dendritic conditions finally set up. Love the pink center of this beautiful flake. It will take a while to process all the photos :). #cowx @NWSBoulder #wxtwitter
