In any case, he would be far too careful for that. And I doubt if he tries to eat it himself (even if it would be hilarious). But the track is still fun to explore, like imagine, he gives it to Azul or others x)
Well, you have to have the vision but imagine a event where Jamil meets the witch who gives him the cake. He ends up giving it to Kalim, who transforms it into a bear 🧍🏻♀️
(Or a beastmen bear)
@_kazoo The worst part is that even with Jamil, he usually tries to change the subject or make excuses (actually, I'm wondering what could have happened in that case, too). But this time, he's really getting worked up, like, wow
Ok, I've been obsessed with these voicelines for months.. I'm still wondering what on earth could have led to this. Kalim, even with Jamil, is usually the type to avoid conflict, so it must have taken something really hurtful to get to this point.+
@snapdrxgon Especially when you delve deeper into the sources of inspiration behind it.
I think a more subtle way of highlighting their power dynamics could have been used.
Okay, I admit defeat, but I have that headcanon too.. The JP version, however, seems to downplay that aspect and present something much more nuanced, from what I've seen.+
i sometimes see ppl hc that the asims/the scalding sands in general execute ppl & it always weirds me out bc...Why. sure, the scalding sands has been called 'old fashioned,' but most of the countries in TWST are monarchies too. so idk. it feels Off to me.
@snapdrxgon The problem with the lore is that it’s largely Orientalist… For example, the relationship between Kalim and Jamil (in a master/servant dynamic, without taking their personal relationship into account) strikes me as quite problematic in the way it's portrayed.+
@snapdrxgon As for the harem, I agree, but I think these are still important points to address if we want to discuss her family background, since that partly explains her current attitude. Regarding Yana history with Soma and what the game suggests, I think it's part of the story's elements+
Several elements point in this direction, notably certain aspects of the movie "Aladdin" as well as Minajael family's insistence regarding his partners. It is shown several times in the game that the system seems to be geared toward this
Kalim could theoretically have men in his harem, even if that wouldn't necessarily be historically accurate. On the other hand, he would likely be forced to marry one or more women in order to ensure the protection and continuity of the Asim lineage.+
