This is an awesome image! One of hundreds of first timers yesterday (1170 to be exact). Many I saw work 7d/wk and needed the walk-in option in their neighbourhood. Barriers overcome IMO: 2/3 access and 1/3 hesitancy. @gabefabreau@annaleecoakley@tweetvandijk@corigqi
Dr. Gaganjot Sandhu gives a COVID-19 vaccine to Elsa Tesfu at the pop-up clinic at Village Square Leisure Centre. The drop-in clinic runs today from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is administering first doses of Pfizer for eligible Calgarians. No appointment required!#ShotofHope
Great news! Phase 1 starts with this clinic. Scale and spread to follow. Amazing partnerships with fantastic community groups and totally amazing docs. Proud to be part of this @ABFamDocs@CalgaryRuralPCN
Author's conclude: "This would support maximising vaccine uptake with two doses among vulnerable groups."
I'm worried in #AB we haven't even got 1 dose in many of our most vulnerable neighbourhoods.
Let's be hopeful & get vaccinations out, but let's please not have 4th wave
This is one of the coolest science stories - Basic science researcher makes a groundbreaking finding: trees communicate. Battles to change policy and Hollywood notices! My old man shows up in the book (he is proud!) Maybe @DrSuzanneSimard can get done what he never could
Congratulations, #UBCForestry professor @DrSuzanneSimard on the worldwide acclaim of the launch of her new book, “Finding the Mother Tree: Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest” and feature film adaptation by #AmyAdams and #JakeGyllenhaal

"The best way to get over vaccine hesitancy is to show up [with vaccines] and show people you care about them and build trust,...And so the best way to do that is listen to people."

“[Dr. Hu] said the trend away from vaccine hesitancy could be due to several factors, from people following the example of others whose judgment they trust, to people's reaction to the pandemic's third wave and a heightened desire to bring it to an end.” #abvax
@colleentatum@gabefabreau@Frazzling Frontline workers who work daytime hours, low-income families who don’t have access to cars and/or childcare to go to a mass immunization site, immigrants who would prefer to see family doc/pharmacist. @gabefabreau & a team had incredible results at the meat packing plants 👍
This morning we celebrated the arrival of the Pfizer vaccine at our Immunization clinic with a victory song. The Pfizer vaccine will allow Siksika Nation members ages 12 and up to be immunized for COVID-19.
We are singing the same song. Constantly feels like we are patching holes in the ship with duct tape to keep it floating for one more day. My daily wish is for our leadership to hear us and come asking for shared solutions... @gabefabreau
Truth spoken by an honorary family doc! The art of medicine. Hard to measure, impossible to legislate, discounted by leaders who don’t “get it”. But it’s the secret sauce. @CalgaryRuralPCN gets it. @corigqi gets it. @nilikm gets it in Ottawa with her jabapalooza
“Trust is about relationships. It is about human beings....about being there,” said Gabriel Fabreau... ”Listen to them...work on your communications...address what are the concerns.”
