@borgette@WillHayCardiff Burning wood was never the issue, thats part of the surface cycle, carbon issue that is, not environmental, I should be clear about that! Trees are simply temporary stores. Apologies for arguing with you, I want trees planted AND people to understand the longer term needs.
@borgette@WillHayCardiff They were discussing climate change which can only "go back" to what it was if we deal with the stuff we have dug out of the carbon cycle I am discussing. Did you miss the part where humans interfered with the cycles? Biomass alleviates nothing unless its buried.
@Bill_Bee_007@omgsidewalks Love the rewilding vision! The main hurdle is just the math: fossil fuels are ancient, compressed deep-earth carbon. Even a fully reforested Earth lacks the physical surface biomass to permanently store it all. True reversal requires putting it back into the rocks.
@borgette@WillHayCardiff Not really. That long term carbon cycle was where those fossil fuels were... Now they are not, through human involvement. Nothing we do to the short term cycle can fix that. Ive written about it here https://t.co/qiiULNXZXE and https://t.co/2st67KjGZC
@AliArthPainter@AndersonZa73453 Wtf being autistic isnt being disabled. I say this as an autistic person. Its not the governments responsibility to help you out, its yours. I am all for no discrimination, but I am also all for people being employed for being the best for the job.
@AnneJoLee@omgsidewalks Agreed. I really dont know how anyone could say that taking trapped carbon from the geological carbon cycle and releasing it into the biological carbon cycle isnt doing a THING lol. Even if its hard to prove anything, its just common sense that would do something not great.
@ralphyellis@RogerHallamCS21 Tho I agree with this, I will point out that 1) I dont think the issue is the current PPM, its more like the world just having a bit of a paddy a shit ton of liquid dinosaurs co2 was released in a "short time" and 2) some dinos were cold blooded.
@WillHayCardiff Planting a trillion trees for example would do fuck all even if all co2 production was halted. As soon as those trees died (all trees die) the co2 is released. Read more here. https://t.co/qiiULNXZXE
@ZackPolanski I think people need to learn a thing or 2 about the different carbon cycles (biological vs geological), society is to blame, not specifically fossil fuel companies. Unless there was a way to get the internet and invent solar without using millions of years of liquid dinosaurs?
@A1an_M@JackDunc1 Of course humans are to blame but also, it was required for our technological advancement... so yeah were in charge now! Iits not like mother nature has done an amazing job in the past lol. https://t.co/qiiULNXZXE
