In 2004, when José Mourinho joined Chelsea, most of the staff and players were hesitant to speak with him because of his stern look and constant frown, except for one man who simply couldn’t help but smile whenever he saw him: Brian Pullman. 💫

Pullman had been working at Chelsea since 1968, and he deeply admired Mourinho. He cared about the smallest details of the manager’s life, sometimes even more than Mourinho himself, treating him almost like a son. He even knew his little preferences, down to the snacks he liked.

From 2004 to 2007, Pullman made sure to always bring Mourinho his favorite vanilla biscuits. And when Mourinho left the club and later faced Chelsea in 2010 with Inter Milan, Pullman hadn’t forgotten him, he handed him the very same biscuits as a gesture of loyalty.

In 2014, when Mourinho returned to Chelsea, the official presentation video began with the two of them together, as everyone knew about their unique bond. After a long career, Pullman retired in 2024, having served the club faithfully for 56 years.

And just two days ago, after ten years without meeting, Pullman surprised Mourinho with a special visit, once again offering him those same biscuits. At that moment, while the “Special One” was frustrated after a defeat, he embraced Pullman like a child reunited with his long-lost father, forgetting everything else in an instant.
