I worked in early education mostly kindergartens for 10+ years. Staff were instructed not to celebrate christmas, Australia day or Easter in the centre as we were "inclusive of all" yet we celebrated Diwali, Chinese new year and other multicultural events.. not so multicultural if you can not celebrate the country you are in or holidays important to the people.
