@HussainIbarra Actionable advice is the only type that has direct value.
It tells you what behavior to change.
Only wanting to consume advice without executing is what’s masturbatory.
Consumption without action is entertainment. Both feel good. Only one will get you outcomes.
@poorbjorn Monetization can be difficult.
You’ve already got a solid base for distribution.
To me, I want the offer to feel natural. Not forced because I need something to sell.
Would love to brainstorm some ideas with ya. Check DMs if you’re interested.
@stijnnoorman Attention is by far your most valuable resource.
Everything is constantly fighting for it.
If you aren’t getting what you want out of life, it’s because you don’t know how to channel it.
@edendotso It feels like everyone is rushing to create a product to sell.
To me the offer should be obvious.
I won’t sell anything until the problem I’m solving is something I’ve done many times, and feels so valuable I’m doing my customer a disservice not providing it to them.
@Markmanson The uncertain path is far more painful. I hope it will be far more rewarding.
The work needs doing either way. The MOAT is not quitting because it’s hard.
@Jayyanginspires “I’m your peer, I’m just early” has been my reframe.
Only time and output will tell.
Can’t reasonably compare yourself to people who have been in the game 10x longer than you.
@Codie_Sanchez Manifestation is only useful if it enables you to complete more work.
It can be used as a reframe. Not a replacement for actual effort.
Manifestation without execution is just mental masturbation.
@getpaidwrite I’ve been trying to strike a balance between creating rules and writing freely.
It’s much easier to write within constraints you set for yourself, but you also don’t want your writing to feel formulaic.
I want to fuse creativity and utility.
I have traded boredom and purposelessness for pain and uncertainty.
Every time I feel the futility of the struggle I remind myself that this is what I asked for.
It’s easy to forget that the joy is in the challenge.
It’s easy for the intention of growing your following through engagement to turn into doom scrolling.
Be intentional with your time on platforms.
Don’t let it sneakily siphon your attention.
To get people to care about something, you must provide value.
That can be entertainment, information, a sense of community.
We are all self interested by nature. If you want to receive something, something first must be given.
@IAmAaronWill 200-300 comments is immense.
I feel like a better strategy would be to leave 10-20 quality comments with the goal of providing value.
No evidence for this yet though.
I’ll test it and report back in the next 30 days or so.
There’s some things I’m not willing to sacrifice.
Just placed 2nd in a local MTG tournament. Played for 6 hours.
Time I could’ve spent working, but instead I spent it on one of my favorite things.
Make sure you’re not sacrificing what you want for what you hope will get it.
