Begun shearing my Wheat this morning and gave the Shearers according to the Norfolk Custom… 11 o’clock plumb Cakes with Caraway Seeds… & some Liquor, a good Dinner with plumb Puddings, and at 4 Beer again. NB the above are called elevens & fours’s.
The nave roof at St Margaret, Ipswich. A double hammerbeam construction of the 1480s, it would once have had angels on the beams. In the late 1680s it was painted to celebrate the Glorious Revolution and the Coronation of William and Mary. 1/3

A huge shout out to @elmycycles. Twice in the last month we've had minor problems (a bent rear derailleur, a mudguard that's come adrift) and they've fixed them cheerfully and quickly and refused any payment. I really wouldn't go anywhere else to buy a bike or have it serviced. https://t.co/qhiJSNui82
Piano? No. Drums? No. Rhythm? Oh yes. For generous helpings of Venuti-Reinhardt-Grappelli swing, just direct your feet to the Hot Club of Fermoy next Friday evening… https://t.co/jMKIUXlMcs
Reader, I read it, and felt right at home. Still half glum that I failed to impress when introduced to some of @Sotherans’ competitors back in ancient times. Thank you @deathbybadger—I’m going to return @corkcolibrary’s copy now and contemplate a purchase.
Flabsolutely abbergasted that my sneerily passive-aggressive request to @corkcolibrary for @deathbybadger’s book about @Sotherans should have been met—and so promptly. Now to see if I can remember how to read.
Need a drumming dep for @corkjazzfest@jazzfestcork? Well, this year I’m working on my avocado seed soup recipe and can’t oblige-oroonee. So you’ll have to, um, improvise.
