It is genuinely disappointing to see a scholar and accomplished writer like Minister @FarahJuxa , whose intellectual efforts and perspectives I greatly respect, so casually label a fellow Somali as a “spy” without presenting evidence, reasoning, or any meaningful example to support such a serious accusation.
Someone like Juxa carries a greater responsibility than the average person, precisely because hundreds of young people look up to his knowledge, ideas, and words. Serious accusations should therefore be accompanied by serious arguments and evidence, rather than reduced to a single statement that appears to echo a narrative circulating on social media.
It is particularly important for Juxa to explain why he compared Speaker Jama @Amohamednur aka Madaxa i furan, to the protagonist of Graham Greene’s famous novel Our Man in Havana.
Graham Greene’s Our Man in Havana tells the story of a man recruited to work as an intelligence agent for a foreign power who, through circumstance and invention, begins fabricating reports that ultimately come to resemble genuine intelligence. Therefore, comparing someone to the central figure of this story is not a casual remark. It carries a serious implication involving espionage, intelligence gathering, and serving a foreign power.
If Juxa made this comparison deliberately, then he should explain what exactly he meant and why he applied it to speaker Jama.
Scholars requires argument and evidence. Serious accusations require an even greater degree of responsibility.

Despite ongoing funding constraints, WFP continued supporting vulnerable communities across Somalia through food assistance, nutrition support and resilience programmes.

The voice of youth diplomacy is the voice of peace cooperation and progress. I am preparing myself to serve with the values of diplomacy and leadership in the future. 🌍🤝 #Diplomacy#YouthLeadership#PublicService
I visited the BBC Somali Service in Nairobi today. A memorable visit to an institution that has shaped Somali journalism for decades.

I am honored to present copies of my Letters of Credence to Mr. Monyelo, Acting Chief of State Protocol at Department of International Relations and Cooperation, upon the commencement of my mission as Ambassador of the Somalia to the South Africa.
I extend my sincere appreciation for the warm reception and gracious hospitality accorded to me by DIRCO.
I look forward to working closely with our South African partners to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between our two countries. 🇸🇴🇿🇦

Congratulations to our Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Republic of South Africa, @honizak10 on the official presentation of the Copies of Credentials.
This important milestone reflects Somalia’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between our two nations of 🇸🇴 & 🇿🇦. Wishing you great success in advancing diplomatic relations, economic cooperation, and service to the Somali community in South Africa.
Thanks @LarryMadowo we know the dedication and self-sacrifice you have shown in ensuring that Omar Artan’s case reached every corner. More generally, Africa has succeeded through unity.
Just as Abdi Bille Abdi became synonymous with long-distance running, Omar Artan should become a symbol of dedication, talent, and integrity in officiating. Major stadiums in the country deserve to bear his name.
Becoming one of the world’s most famous football referees is not just a game, it’s an extraordinary achievement earned through hard work and excellence.
What could be more painful than being excluded from the 2026 World Cup, not for who you are or what you’ve done, but simply because of where you were born?
RIP on Prof. Ali Jimale. I grateful & appreciate that I came to know this great man through you, I first heard about him from you, and then went on to follow and study his knowledge and literary works.
It is the duty of Somali intellectuals to study and carry forward his legacy.
On behalf of his family & friends, I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of Professor Ali Jimale Ahmed. His family was around him when he died in New York. He was the most revered of all Somali scholars. He will be sorely missed in Area Studies but also in Global Studies.
The sorrow over the passing of our Professor, Ali Jimale Ahmed, has deeply touched the hearts of the Somali people. He was a distinguished figure in knowledge, literature, and thought, and his legacy will never be forgotten.
May Allah have mercy on him Jannatul Firdaws.
I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend, Professor Ali Jimale Ahmed. Our friendship began in 1997, sparked by my reading of his influential works, The Invention of Somalia and Daybreak. At the time, my own thinking was shaped by Edward Said, Noam Chomsky, and Howard Zinn, and we spent many hours engaged in academic discussions on literary criticism, postmodernism, and African literature. When he wrote a letter of recommendation for my graduate school applications in 2009, he humorously remarked that he had assumed I already held a graduate degree back when we first met in 1997. I will always be grateful for his enduring friendship and mentorship.
SubhanAllah. In these blessed last ten nights of Ramadan, it’s disappointing to see unfounded claims dressed up as fact. Responsible discourse, especially about fellow Muslims, should be guided by truth, restraint, and a measure of humility.
Today, we celebrated the victory of the Broad-Based Government alongside the newly elected MPs and MCAs at State House.
We extend our sincere gratitude to His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto and to our able Party Leader Dr. Oburu Oginga for their steadfast leadership and guidance.
Can’t stop thinking about how much the ineptitude of the Somali government has contributed to the misery of its citizens. Holding other factors constant, of course.
