@5280Bsblr I live in Cincy, see alot of the good and the bad. His bat in Colorado would be awesome to see. Heās lazy in the field. SS has to be an anchor.
To all my Friends, Rockies fans, current and past Players, members of the entire Colorado Rockies Organization top to bottom,
I would like to extend my appreciation and love for being part of an incredible journey for over 20 years.
I was granted the opportunity to coach and manage this club. Then, I was asked to come back and mentor the young players and future leaders of this organization. Both were gifts. Thank you to Dick Monfort for trusting me with both of those journeys and for always treating me like family and making Colorado feel like home.
What I will hold onto most isnāt the wins. Itās the people! They are what Rocktober was built on. Thatās what the next great Rockies team will be built on too.
With my last day being October 31, 2026ā¦.just know that I am not retiringā¦but rather recalculating my journey personally and professionally.
In the words of my favorite Doctorā¦.āDonāt be sad itās over be glad it happenedā - Dr. Seuss
Thank you for your support over the years. My family and I have loved our time in Colorado, and will always cherish our memories in purple.
Make a difference today,
Love Clint

Jeter to Murphy...
āThe Brewers play baseball the right wayā ā¦.
- Pat Murphy replies ⦠āGuys today donāt understand that!ā
We have gotten so far away from center as to what winning baseball is and looks like⦠the younger generationās focus is on launch angle, spin rates, velocity and you only win by out slugging the opponent! Basicallyā¦. Hit more HR than the other teamā¦. Then pimp the HR.
Well eyes have been opened. They have to be. Itās now a matter of ⦠if pride will keep the other orgs from following. If they do⦠our game will skyrocket like never before.
It was literally the most beautiful baseball I have seen at the MLB level ⦠electric!

@CoachBeede No problem! Got to give back to the youth, only way to build the game! A kid I coached who went on to pitch juco came back and helps coach.
@SociallyGreg Guy, I never said your body doesnāt produce it. I never said you shouldnāt get it from food. I think thatās exactly where you should get it from. Get it naturally not synthetically. Creatine powder is mostly made in labs in China.
BASEBALL PARENTS: ā¾ļøš
According to NCAA estimates:
⢠472,598 high school baseball players.
⢠Just 8.8% advance to NCAA baseball.
⢠Only 2.7% reach Division I.
Now consider this...
D1 programs operating under the new roster rules generally have 34 roster spots.
Those spots aren't just for incoming freshmen. They're shared with returning players, transfers, and other recruits.
Here's what I wish more parents understood...
Your son can be GOOD ENOUGH to play at a school and STILL never receive an offer.
Why?
Because recruiting isn't simply about talent.
It's about POSITIONAL NEEDS, ROSTER AVAILABILITY, PROJECTABILITY, ACADEMICS, FINANCES, and TIMING.
A coach knowing your son doesn't mean he's recruiting him.
And a coach not offering your son doesn't automatically mean he isn't good enough.
My advice?
Study rosters. Understand the numbers. Ask better questions. Find the right fit, and go where you're wanted ā¼ļø
Don't put a ceiling on your kid's dreams, but don't ignore the realities of the process either.
The goal isn't just to get RECRUITED. It's to find somewhere your son can DEVELOP, COMPETE, and SUCCEED.
Knowledge is power.
I took 5g creatine everyday for 5 years⦠Last year I stopped.
Hereās what I noticed:
1. I feel more fluid and athletic. Lighter on my feet and more integrated in my athleticism
2. Nagging injuries have healed and I have not gotten any new injuries š despite training just as intensely if not more so
3. Less bloating around face, neck, and stomach. Creatine is known to store more water in cells which is what makes muscles look ābiggerā (this likely happens in other cells around the body if I had to guess)
For reference I am 36 and weigh around 190 lbs. My assessment on all the research studies showing benefits of creatine are done on unhealthy people eating unhealthy diets, so they show ābenefitsā - so if you are healthy it is completely unnecessary
How long should young pitchers rest after fall baseball: Pitch Smart says at least four months off competitive pitching each year for ages 15-18. Dads, count every throw, lessons included, and put the shutdown on the calendar now before winter starts.
Over 2,500 games from the dugout. 50+ years in baseball. 17 as an MLB manager.
I won Manager of the Year and also lost more games than I want to count.
I led teams through losing seasons and took a team to the World Series.
If I could go back to my first day as a leader, here are the 5 lessons I'd whisper in my own ear:
Lesson 1: Be a window when it's good, a mirror when it's bad.
The leaders I respected most shared every win and absorbed every hit.
What this looks like in practice:
⢠Wins: name the people who made it happen
⢠Losses: say "that's on me" before anyone asks
⢠Locker room: spotlight the effort before the outcome
Your team will fight harder for a leader who deflects credit and absorbs blame.
Lesson 2: Nobody hands you trust. You earn it before you coach it.
Early in my career, plenty of coaches tried to fix my swing.
I tuned out every one I didn't trust.
Get to know your people before you try to develop them.
Their hobbies, their family, what makes them tick.
Then the coaching lands.
Lesson 3: Shower well after every loss.
After a losing streak in Colorado, our team president asked me how I kept the clubhouse together.
This was my rule:
⢠Self-evaluate honestly, were we prepared, did we execute?
⢠Shower well, wash off the grit, grime, and angst before you walk out
⢠Be present for whoever you're going home to
Tomorrow is a new opportunity. Don't drag yesterday into it.
Lesson 4: Lead transformationally, not transactionally.
Transactional leaders ask: what can this person do for me?
Transformational leaders ask: how do I put this person in a position to win?
The first builds compliance.
The second builds careers.
When your people start chasing growth instead of your approval, you've crossed over.
Lesson 5: Stay humble before life humbles you.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those who are humble, and those who are about to be.
Discipline keeps you in the first group:
Skill gets you in the room. Humility keeps you there.
50 years taught me leadership isn't about you.
It's about the people you serve.
