Putrajaya is considering imposing a levy on every EV sold to fund the expansion of Malaysia's public charging network, said MITI Minister Johari Ghani.
This follows weaker-than-expected investment in public charging infrastructure despite tax incentives for imported EVs, which cost the government RM3.3 billion in foregone revenue over the past four years.

One thing I don't understand is this: Why is the U.S. carrying Israel's burden as if Israel were one of its own states?
Malaysia is a sovereign country and has the right to determine its own foreign policy. The country has said it cannot recognise Israel because of what it considers Israel's cruel treatment of the Palestinians. How is that the U.S. government's business?
