NEW: Roughly 1 in 12 Ontario schools have the same roof panels that forced the closure of the Ontario Science Centre, according to internal gov’t docs, but boards are being offered no specific funding to manage the cost of replacement/repair.

@ESL_fairy@andreamoffat This helps create the haves and the have nots. A school that comes from a higher socioeconomic area will raise more and have more than a school from a lower socioeconomic area.
Okay, 🇨🇦. I need you to look past the left vs right BS for a sec. You don't understand how hard you're being screwed.
In a few tweets, you'll understand gov finance better than most politicians. You'll also see how f*cked up Ontario's corner store liquor deal is.

Remember this from six years ago?
"The Ford government spent $231 million to cancel the green energy contracts it tore up after taking office..."
Another decision reversed at great cost. More expensive inefficiency. More waste. What is better under Doug Ford? #onpoli
When Ford cancelled rent controls, just like Davis did 20 years ago, he predicted thousands of new rental units would be built. They were not. In fact landlords bought single family houses and rented them out. Prices have soared because of it. DOUG FAILED.

Ontario pharmacists have conduced more than 1-million minor ailment assessments so far.
But unlike with doctors, OHIP funding goes to the pharmacy, not the pharmacist, leading to concerns that private companies have gained backdoor access to public healthcare cash.

Doug Ford decided that it’s more important to give US companies big profits by selling THIER products in US owned groceries in Ontario-rather than selling in LCBO stores with the profits being used on infrastructure, medical supplies and Drs for Ontario. Disgusting.
For anyone who thinks the "science of reading" is settled, "Fact-checking the science of reading" by Rob Tierney (UBC) and David Pearson (UCB) will be unsettling: https://t.co/K3r0zVTX0N (pdf)
I totally understand Doug Ford’s frustration. I mean if I pulled the carpet out from under eleven small business owners and their staff to give their livelihoods away to a big American company I’d be frustrated too if people kept asking me to explain my inexplicable decision.
Speaking from some experience, when he's getting chippy that's when you know you're really onto something. Keep at it.
This Staples fiasco reeks of another insider, backroom deal.
Ontarians deserve better than this.
