Whether people like or not Education WILL evolve, it will have to reform alongside the shifting paradigms of labour, services, & technology within the next industrial revolution. It's just up to us (society) to decide whether we start the evolution now or wait till its broken⬇️🧵
@DonaldClark Thanks. Had a skim read, looks interesting and very much in line with my thinking/findings. I'll have a proper read when I find time. I'm currently just trying to condense my fellowship report into more digestible blogs. Hopefully you may find them to be of some interest.
@MrZachG That's interesting, it suggests that efficacy was produced from improvements in standardised tests scores, but I'm assuming there are issues with the research?
@Doug_Lemov Especially in Maths! If you're using a standardised testing model that assess students ability to prep answers to predetermined questions, then 'discovery' or any kind of flexible pedagogy is usually counter productive. I'd just like to see more choice of assessment systems
'DUMBING DOWN'
My thoughts on the formula sheet debacle. (For what it's worth)

I've been off X for a while so no idea who's on here or if anyone really cares, but fuck it 🤷🏻♂️
None of this would be 'dumbing down', none of it 'cognitive offloading' it would just be a different way to think about what learning, knowledge & attainment looks like, & if it is accepted as currency, then it is working! Choice could be key! 👌
