@TFHypeGuy It probably should’ve came with one, but I don’t really mind. I can’t think of the last time I had a blast effect on a figure longer than ten seconds
@123456789Ratbat I kind of like this toy now, but its reputation is deserved.
They fucked up so much about this figure so the train could roll the way it does, and it doesn’t even roll well
@14thPrimeCustom I don’t dislike how this toy looks, better than I thought a unicron themed retool of the fallen would go, but it is an instance of upgrade kit fodder.
@Optimaltron247 I wouldn’t call it the worst leader mold, but it’s the most boring one we’ve gotten in the last decade.
I expect fewer flaws out of a toy that isn’t doing much, but everything about the shoulders suck. Getting the arms out is a pain and the shoulders fall down constantly
@TFHypeGuy $80 for 8 minicons and red alert is actually a good deal. Unlike the other minicon pack things, I would be willing to pay full price for this assuming the minicons are as good as the previous ones
@TFHypeGuy The herald of unicron is the figure I’m the second most excited for of the wave which is kind of sad.
I’ve noticed that we’ve been getting more filler waves in generations the last 1-2 years. Aotp has been mostly fine up until now though
@TFHypeGuy I still stand by my opinion that swindle is the most impressive of the combaticons visually, but I’m not paying 43 for it.
Most aotp figures I own have loose joints and both jhiaxus and legacy vector prime had floppy legs, so there’s a good chance the new vector will too
@snowyborne I kind of like the groal fight and the theming of the area is cool, but that runback is ass. Boss runbacks become white noise after the first five or so attempts, and groal is no different. If it was just the enemy rush before groal, it would probably be fine
@yuramikon I’m not far into the game at all, but I’ve already noticed it’s becoming easier. Was able to tank several hits from the duchess when that wasn’t really possible with the previous bosses.
To be fair, a shitty difficulty curve is an inherent weakness of games like this.
@TFHypeGuy Haven’t had this particular issue yet, probably will later if I don’t sand them down given how ridiculously tight of a connection it is, but I did have one of silverbolt’s wing tips break
@Dr_Lockdown I agree that modern combiners are better than cw combiners, but that’s less to do with modern combiners using frames and more so because prime wars had horrible joint tolerances across the board. If the modern combiners didn’t use frames, they’d still be better than cw
@chimichangakinz I probably wouldn’t have noticed it was the old figure until I had already bought it.
You’re not missing out on that much. I haven’t transformed aotp powerglide a single time without something falling off and there’s a lot of parts that don’t want to tab in
@TFanPage101 I think it’s down to how basic he is. Every other prime is either more interesting from an engineering standpoint, has some extra thing they do, or just look weird in general.
I think alchemist is one of the better aotp primes, but I often forget the toy even exists
@TFHypeGuy I’m okay with another g1 commander as long as it’s interesting, and this one very much is.
They better do the pretender gimmick, I get why the other modern pretenders didn’t, but this guy is gonna be $100. They have the budget necessary to make everything work
@TFHypeGuy I don’t think I’ve transformed either version of this mold I have without something refusing to close all the way. It’s about 95% of the way to having a great transformation, it just refuses to let me finish it
@TFHypeGuy I think the figure itself looks fine, but I would never use the accessory as it would require me to remove the artifacts from the other primes, which I’m not doing. Some of them only came with one weapon and, in the case of Megatronus, the artifact is pivitol to the alt mode
