i wrote today for the first time in a month!!!! when they say you gotta read to write, it’s true because reading a good book will inspire you soooooooooo much to write and plot and dream really
it was just so well done and the banter!! some quotes had me blushing but there was absolutely no spice so love that
the plotting was slow at times though which is why it’s not 5⭐️ but it’s such a strong first book i CAN NOT wait for book 2!!!
weavingshaw review: 4⭐️
the writing was stunning, the atmosphere and world so lush and intriguing
i was not expecting the themes of displacement, racism and refugees to be brought up but it was done so well and added depth and complexity to this world
i loved the characters…
Leena was smart, emotional, stubborn and i LOVED her relationship with her brother Rami.
St. Silas gave me heathcliff vibes. he was so dark and brooding and i genuinely felt for him.
the yearning, the romance!! not quite a slowburn but definitely not love at first sight…
i’ve never watched euphoria and never will but i’m reading about what happened in the finale and omg. this show is dark as fuck. idk how ppl torture themselves by watching it. for the sake of my mental health i could never
also st. silas is sooooooooo fine. i knew he was the love interest from the beginning but i wasn’t sure how the author would turn this seemingly evil and monstrous human being to someone we root for but she did it and she did it well
yall i’m 80% the way through and idk what imma do when i finish….this book just came out in february & it’s the first in a trilogy. if there’s a cliffhanger i’m gonna revolt
i thought he would go off on her about how be needed her and she wasn’t there etc but he was just genuinely worried and concerned 🥺 such a breath of fresh air
i’m actually so annoyed i wasted my saturday reading direbound 😭 i wanted to read it bc furybound’s release had a lot of hype & i really enjoyed the wolf king last year but i had no idea direbound was marketed as fourth wing with wolves otherwise i would’ve NEVERRR picked it up
commoner out on the commoner streets?? i’m all for the suspension of disbelief but that’s too cringe…make it interesting make him a villain. & it’s so icky that he lied about his identity. whole time she’s putting herself in danger fighting dudes 3x her size & he’s the PRINCE???
plot twist…i’m dnfing this book
two things bothered me the most
(spoilers!!!)
1) if deadly vampire thingies took your sister…what makes you think you have four months to train & get her back like she has to be dead already i’m sorry
2) the crown prince falling in love with a
