it was just so well done and the banter!! some quotes had me blushing but there was absolutely no spice so love that

the plotting was slow at times though which is why it’s not 5⭐️ but it’s such a strong first book i CAN NOT wait for book 2!!!

the writing was stunning, the atmosphere and world so lush and intriguing

i was not expecting the themes of displacement, racism and refugees to be brought up but it was done so well and added depth and complexity to this world

Leena was smart, emotional, stubborn and i LOVED her relationship with her brother Rami.

St. Silas gave me heathcliff vibes. he was so dark and brooding and i genuinely felt for him.

the yearning, the romance!! not quite a slowburn but definitely not love at first sight…

i’m actually so annoyed i wasted my saturday reading direbound 😭 i wanted to read it bc furybound’s release had a lot of hype & i really enjoyed the wolf king last year but i had no idea direbound was marketed as fourth wing with wolves otherwise i would’ve NEVERRR picked it up
