Carrot is slow to adopt to us. He’s a feral rescue, who was in foster care for 6mo before us. He’s not comfortable leaving his home zone to explore the other bits of the Apt. He loves being on his “safety couch” in the office.
Anyone with similar experience?
It’s been a minute! I 🎉graduated🎉 and am now living in Oakland working on wildfire resilience, it’s pretty lovely.
We adopted Carrot who is our king. He’s a 15lb rescue floof.
Tomasa sent this pic from where she harvests apples in WAs Yakima Valley. She says you can barely see due to bad air quality from wildfire smoke. Currently the apple and hop harvests are in full swing and farm workers don’t get to slow down. #WeFeedYou
The term “jaywalking” upsets me every time I see it. I want people to question where it comes from and understand that it is a racial slur and an ableist term. Decriminalizing anything is a victory to me. But it’s odd that nobody is problematizing the term itself.
Here we go they did this with paradise too! folks especially those who didn't have insurance or rented will add to the ranks of the unhoused... we have been saying how will your gov. treat you when you become unhoused the separation of poor vs unpoor is getting deeper
Isehel shared this video from Courtland CA. She is packing individual pears for transport and is paid by how many boxes she can produce. Pears have a short harvest season so she will do her best to earn the most over the next 6-7 days. #WeFeedYou
My name is Caity Maple & I’m running for City Council in #Sacramento to ensure our neighborhoods are affordable, there are pathways to good jobs with benefits & compassionate solutions for unsheltered residents.
