Banodoco is seeking a front-end/full-stack engineer/AI hacker/UX-person unicorn to work with us to rapidly build an AI animation tool that leverages the technology our community pioneered in far better/smarter ways than those who are ripping us off. Shares appreciated!
About you:
- You pride yourself in making very good things. You want to push yourself and be held to an extremely high standard
- You're very good at everything related to building products/making things and learn fast
- You're probably very interested in AI art and AI in general
- You have made stuff you're proud of in the past that you can share - even though you know you can do a lot better in the future
- You know your profession is going to change immensely and are eager to evolve as the technology does - aspiring to use LLMs and related tech to the max in your work
- You believe we're at an pivotal moment in history and you want to work hard to find a good place in this future
- You take ownership and work very well independently but also accept direction and are low-ego about making decisions. You're also willing to stand your ground if you believe you're right
- You probably believe that a world in which AI art models/workflows/technology are open would be a better one to live in
- You probably have some level of admiration and respect for the open source AI art ecosystem and would like to see it thrive
What you will do:
- To start, you will work with me to build a great front-end tool for Steerable Motion (https://t.co/Z7HyzRm8EG) and related workflows - this is the product of the last 10 months of progress in Animatediff that our community has driven - see thread below
- We will then evolve this rapidly alongside our community and artists
- We will then seek to generalise the components in it - to build an AI-powered tool builder - designed with the assumption that artists will be able to reshape their capabilities into their own unique art tools once we reach GPT-5/6-level AI coding abilities. We ultimately want to facilitate an ecosystem of thousands of weird and unique art tools - created by artists. "We shape our tools, then our tools shape us" belongs in the 20th century. You can read our plan here: https://t.co/VzRgZvDJiF
Disclaimer: we will need to work very fast and to a high-standard if we're not to be left behind. The technology and approaches we pioneered with our community are being ripped off by closed-source companies - see thread below. I believe our version can be better given we have a far deeper understanding of the tools and their ultimate purpose - to create art - than those who copy. Our community is also home to many of the best AI artists and open source AI art inventors - working with them we'll be able to relentlessly evolve the workflows and reach people with the beautiful art they create - check out our community if you haven't: https://t.co/0JF5sDDrM5
You will be paid but not nearly as much as you could probably be paid elsewhere ($5,000/month - like what I'll be paid) - but you will get significant ownership + I believe the chance to be a very significant part in something special. Ideally you're able to start ASAP.
To apply: DM me something you made that you're proud of alongside a short message.
@willob@rincidium & to @jamesdelaneyie! Who made this, if anyone feels like turning the results of this idea day into a lil microsite that could be used for logging all the ideas from the community over time... just sayin' https://t.co/KFbday3Yh7

I used DALL·E 2's inpainting feature to make a version of Eames Powers of Ten, leaving the prompts in to explain each of the 57 steps. #DALLE@OpenAI#AI

I was asked to do a podcast with a former employee @awymest, who worked at @websummit for 3 of the crazy early years, to talk about the good & the bad of working at WS
It's a fair insight, with much laughter
Amy's also one of the most brilliant people
