A couple days ago I went to court. In my statement to the judge, I spoke about the PTSD I now have as a result of being a survivor of domestic violence.
#PTSD and Trauma from domestic violence needs to be recognized. The trauma does not end once the survivor leaves.
#Trauma from #DV has ongoing, long-term physiological and psychological impacts for women and children. While #PTSD is recognised in VETS and frontline services it is not for DV.
This would be an excellent start!
Gratitude @DrWilliams and all involved 🙏

hardest thing for me to grasp as an adult is you have to keep showing up no matter how you feel. you gotta do this shit sad, do it heartbroken, do it grieving, do it tired. life doesn’t care, it waits for nobody, you just have to keep going.
Shoutout to every person who’s depression and trauma was so severe that it caused them to self isolate and kill their social life. You aren’t a bad person for recovering and trying to rebuild yourself, it takes years.
💬 Emotional and verbal abuse may not cause visible harm, but they can deeply affect your well-being. It’s important to know the difference. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected in their relationships.
Apparently I was mentioned during a video gaming session by someone I was just being nice to. They were talking about how they wanted to have *** with me. It was disturbing.

Coming out to a conservative family made it hard to see myself in the cultural and familial fabric that I grew up with. I felt like a loose end that had to be cut. I’ve spent the last year immersing myself in queer Mexican and Poblano spaces. It’s been a journey 🌹
I’ve been traumatized and lived thru some fucked up shit and I still treat people with love and decency. Trauma is not an excuse to treat people like shit. :)))
