Hello Kate, I was at your exact same location just a few weeks ago. The scale is staggering especially since most of the gold mined is stored in a safe box. I was there visiting one of our soil decontamination sites. We will be there long after the mine is done.
I’m in Val D’Or and wanted to see the Canadian Malartic gold Mine, which is right next to the community. It’s 1.7 km long, 900m wide and 380m deep. It’s impossible to describe the scale. I can’t even see the bottom.
