Birds of prey moved into my backyard. I think this is a Merlin (Falco columbarius) that preys on small birds. It sure did not long to grab their first meal.
Our current situation of trying to suppress the virus is doomed to failure. The consequences of our actions far outweigh the risks. We must now accept that it is here to stay and learn to live with it, like we have had to do with almost all other infections.
Interesting. @bushcamp2 (Love &respect the outdoors) posted a video of a grizzly bear crossing a bridge in Jasper. @ClaytonTLamb (bear researcher chasing the truth) rebuttals. Commentators paying lip service and a scientist put it on notice. Stay tuned.

The branches of the thick undergrowth were swaying beside the trail I was walking on. Suddenly two bears popped up, hugged a tree and gave me a curious look. Hyperphagia. Bears are feeding day and night to fatten up before hibernation. Give them space.
I dropped by the Calgary Zoo to visit some of my favourite animals in the Canadian Wilds habitat. @calgaryzoo provides sanctuary for orphaned animals, like this cougar, that can't return to the wild.
No room for bears. Cars and people every which way on the Vermillion Lakes road in Banff and forlorn black bear #1074 pauses to plan his next move. Already under GPS surveillance for past infractions, the next misstep could be his last. #Banff#BanffNationalPark Parks Canada
Like most bears in overcrowded national park settings grizzly bear #126 is habituated to humans: he learned to tolerate people, but he is still a wild bear and can be unpredictable. Never feed, approach, surprise, turn your back on, or run from a bear. #Banff Banff National Park
