That is NOT the shape of the Earth. The Earth is an oblate spheroid shape (due to a slightly larger radius at the equator because of the spin), but is indistinguishable from a sphere to the human eye. What you are seeing here is a depiction of the strength of Earth's gravity EXAGGERATED 10,000 TIMES.
