[La Borinqueña @LaBorinquena_GN]

I witnessed and experienced inequities and injustices that shaped me to be the storyteller, activist, advocate, and philanthropist I am today. This life I live shapes the stories I tell in La Borinqueña and the talks I give across the world.

[La Borinqueña @LaBorinquena_GN]

I grew up in abject poverty. By the time I was 18 years old, I lived in 22 different places throughout New York City; Syracuse, NY; Reading, PA; and throughout Puerto Rico.

I hope that my words can reach those that need to be uplifted and reminded of their innate superpowers to help others as well. Thank you for your reading my post and if you want to support our work, click on the link in the comments. ¡Pa'lante, siempre pa'lante!

Late night thread...
1984, Puerto Rico. Between San Lorenzo and Ceiba, I lived in Las Piedras. My mother's sister Ruth was married to Mario, my really cool tío. He tried teaching me to drive his Pontiac station wagon and enjoyed eating huevos de toro.

.@MikeyRivera of @Adweek writes: "In the case of La Borinqueña, we can see a great example of how superhero and sci-fi from Latinx storytellers can be leveraged to create authentic partnerships and content that truly connects with Latinx audiences." https://t.co/G8QYzQOcKu

The unelected justices on the US Supreme Court just delivered a big blow to both the rights of Puerto Ricans and to journalism.

Puerto Rico's Center of Investigative Journalism sued the unelected fiscal control board that the US government imposed on the colonized "territory".

The Supreme Court ruled that the people of Puerto Rico do not have the right to access documents that show how the unelected fiscal control board runs their lives. So the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) basically does not apply in US colonial "territories".

This is blatant colonialism combined with a full-frontal attack on journalism.
