Texas law requires school principals to offer voter registration to 18 year olds twice every school year. Texas is home to about 409,000 18-year-old U.S. citizens, according to 2022 U.S. Census Bureau data. But also according to the U.S. Census Bureau, 39.6% of Texans ages 18 to 24 were registered to vote in November 2022. Texas capably enforces plenty of its laws , but not this one. Can you imagine if every 18 year old were registered and encouraged to vote? Yeah, me too.
