‘Producers aren’t songwriters’ is the most ignorant myth people believe.
Lyrics aren’t the only part of songwriting. Writing notes down is literally songwriting. People who make instrumental music have ALWAYS been considered song writers, legally.
Producers, don’t get played.
Producers love getting mad at artists releasing music without clearing it
but when they do try to clear it, you tell them there's actually 4 people on the beat, 1 of them is going to ask for a big advance, 1 of them wont respond at all, and the other one needs help w an invoice
Producers, not all advice is good advice.
I’ve seen producers tell me to:
1. Delete my beatstore
2. Sell beats as buyouts
3. Register every beat with a PRO before selling it
4. Manipulate a sample to ‘avoid copyright trouble’
5. Use Beatstars bots
Be careful out there 😱
So many producers complain about not selling beats but they aren’t even sending any out ! I send over a gigabyte of beats in total every day. A gigabyte. And I make thousands of dollars a month. You only get back what you put out
Producers can’t survive through the ups and downs of the music business without genuinely loving music.
Music production is not a get rich quick scheme.
