The Shortcuts org at Apple is hiring! I’ve helped build this team over the past 9 years and they are some of the brightest and most thoughtful people I’ve ever worked with.
My team at Apple has multiple openings available, including Tech Lead position for a high visibility, high impact project, and a senior IC role that will involve working with half of the operating system (and design) to deliver an integrated and reliable user experience.
If you're interested in shaping the future of personal automation or designing APIs that will power keynote-worthy features for years to come, feel free to drop me a DM.
The position isn't remote, but we'll help you get here.

👋 I’m briefly back to recommend “Filterworld: How Algorithms Flattened Culture” by @chaykak. I thought it would be too ironic to post about it on the very type of platform the book criticizes, but this is the kind of book that I wish would infiltrate Filterworld and go viral. 📕
Today is the launch day of my new book FILTERWORLD: How Algorithms Flattened Culture! It's in stores and online everywhere now. Some glamour shots of the beautiful hardcover, designed by Oliver Munday. All the info you need is here: https://t.co/xRUpV6wxAg
During my time on this team I contributed to UIKit, SwiftUI, SpringBoard and plenty of other codebases - if you're looking for a role where you can impact how literally billions of Apple customers interact with their devices - look no further.
My team at Apple (Shortcuts) is hiring an iOS software engineer to do weird things to computers and make Shortcuts even more integrated with the Apple ecosystem.

👋 Hello! The Shortcuts team is hiring an intern for winter|spring|summer 2024 with some exp working on apps or frameworks for iOS, macOS, or watchOS. You’ll get to work with Obj-C, Swift, UIKit, AppKit, & SwiftUI. If this sounds fun to you, please DM me your resume. Thanks! 😊
Many people seem to want to join the https://t.co/wxavlgAbKW instance but it is not currently accepting signups except through invitations.
So here's an invitation link that is valid for the next 24 hours and can be used an infinite number of times:

@senoj_eejar I used https://t.co/IuYI9EZWPv to find people I already followed on Twitter, but I don’t know if that’s working anymore :/ Generally speaking though, I followed a few people I know to start with, and keep an eye out for who they “retoot” to find more people!
If you’re still here, please join us on Mastodon! If you follow me for iOS/Apple things, the community is already there and geeking out about Ivory like it’s 2011 again ✨
I even tweeted about something diversity & inclusion related recently and got zero trolls in my replies 🤯
Now that Twitter is allowing sharing social media links again (at least for the time being), here are mine:

(They both go to the same page, but one might give you more joy to click on.)
@dvcrn Twitter’s banning of both journalists and any linking to competitor services (even if they did reverse it; not actually sure because they make decisions so capriciously) definitely did affect me. It’s too unstable of a platform for me personally.
I’ve been here since 2009, slowly building up my professional and social circles. I have so many memories here, and it’s sad to see what it’s become. However, I’m also optimistic that I’ve already found many of my friends over at 🐘 and I hope to find the rest you there soon too.
I’m so confused by the small number of people in my timeline tweeting about normal things like nothing is going on. Please go do that on Mastodon instead 🤗
