Stop giving Gender minister appointments to women who cannot work!
Reserve it for the ‘mad women’ who can raise hell.
The so called ‘mother figures’ are failing us.
Y’all aren’t ready for this conversation, but I don’t think the Ministry of Gender should be reserved exclusively for women. We need competent people who can make tough, sometimes unpopular decisions to protect human rights and the interests of women, children, and society at large. If a man is the most competent person for the job, give it to him. Competence should matter more than gender. This whole “Obaatan” approach isn’t helping at all.
Linda Ocloo, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Rita Odoley Sowah, Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, Dzifa Abla Gomashie infact Lordina Mahama....all these women are at the helm of affairs and this kind of evil is perpetuated against women
Even the CID Boss is a woman and this happening?!
GOD!🤦🏾♀️
Obuasi SHTS sexual assault: This cannot be business as usual. Let’s not fail our young girls - Abena Osei Asare calls for decisive action against the headmaster.

The fact that the vice president who is a woman is quiet on this matter is proof of the presidency’s attempt to protect the headmaster. The silence of the vice president is loud!
Ghana has a strange relationship with wrongdoing. Someone does something terrible and before we even discuss the victim people are already asking us to forgive or consider their reputation and hear their side. What about the person they hurt?
Some of you are deliberately being obtuse, and hiding behind the “law” to be dismissive about these allegations, and that’s actually very troubling.
You can defend his right to due process without dismissing 19 children as liars.
If your position is that the allegations must be investigated and tested, we agree.
But “these allegations must be proven” and “these children conspired to falsely accuse him” are two very different statements.
What evidence supports the second when there’s enough evidence to support the first.
The children deserve to be heard and protected while the allegations are investigated.
That does not deny him justice.
But then again it’s only when sexual allegations come up that y’all suddenly respect due process.
We cannot keep telling our girls to speak up if we are not prepared to protect them when they do.
Earlier this year, someone reached out to me about her younger sister, who had allegedly been defiled by a neighbour at 13 years old and got pregnant. The girl had been out of school since then, and her sister was asking if @FTFGhana could help her return to school.
My team and I made the trip to assess the situation, and what we heard was even more disturbing.
Her big sister told us that after the suspect was arrested, an assemblyman in their community intervened and secured his release from police custody. The man has since reportedly disappeared, and his whereabouts are unknown.
Just imagine that.
And I keep asking, how did this happen? On what grounds was he released? What happened to the investigation? And what steps were taken to ensure that this young girl received the protection and justice she deserved?
Our police and other relevant authorities have an enormous responsibility to protect vulnerable children, especially when allegations of sexual abuse are reported. We need to be able to trust that these matters will be investigated thoroughly, that proper procedures will be followed, and that no one will be allowed to interfere with the administration of justice.
A young girl’s childhood and education have been disrupted, and the person accused of abusing her is nowhere to be found.
How do we expect our girls to feel safe in a society where the very people and institutions meant to protect them sometimes fail them?
Because of the work I do, I have encountered so many heartbreaking situations involving vulnerable children and young girls. I could share stories upon stories.
We need families, schools, communities, traditional leaders, the police and other institutions to take child protection seriously. We must stop protecting alleged perpetrators at the expense of vulnerable children.
No girl should have her safety, dignity, education or future taken away from her because society failed to protect her.
Please, let’s come together and protect our girls and children. I cannot scream this enough! 💔
