Here’s the part Axe the Tax people need to answer.

Ohio property tax is not one bucket.

Class I is homes, families, and farmers.

Class II is commercial and industrial property: warehouses, shopping centers, factories, offices, and data centers.

Public utility property is its own bucket.

So when someone says “abolish all property tax,” ask them:

Do you mean protect homeowners and farmers?

Or do you mean wipe out the tax bill for data centers, warehouses, shopping centers, commercial landlords, and utilities too?

Because those are not the same policy.

Ohio families are getting crushed. I agree.

But data centers are not Grandma’s house.

Protect homeowners and farmers first.
