Hey @ayescold Ayesha, so nice to see the latest RA mix comes from you .... hope everything is going well - 155 min mix will be my morning music to get me going for the week ahead. I hope things are getting easier since the incident, sending big hugs๐ซ

loving these ideas (3/3)
8. following all your musical influences without worrying how the end result will come together, or say - how the tracks will fit in a single release
9. letting go of good ideas more quickly
loving these ideas (2/3)
5. approaching sound design solely for myself, in a playful way, unafraid to go off the rails
6. simplifying a mix > overcomplicating it
7. for variation, zooming in on an overlooked but special element thatโs already in the track
loving these ideas (1/3)
1. making 1 tune at a time w no pressure to make more
2. preserving a song the way it is at inception
3. creating variation by stripping a track down as it evolves > adding more
4. honoring a song at its initial length > extending it
Pretty sure this is the first time I've ever talked to an artist about the lingering effects of their traumatic brain injury. Kudos to @ayescold for both the honesty and vulnerability she brought to this interview.
@blvksite@gladstonedeluxe preach. yeah Faderfox's artist support is poor, they r focused on hardware > building any creative any community. my manager asked them for a deal on the PC12 if i promoted it, and they said they don't do artist collabs ๐ either that - or they don't do them w/ artists like me.
gotta say: loving the Faderfox PC 4 midi controller but for being so pricey the hardware has little documentation online. their manual is like a bare version of what you really wanna know.
barely any info on how to use it optimally with ableton or other devices, buyer beware ๐ถ
