Today, on Oct. 11, Armenians around the world are taking to social media to call out Azerbaijan for attempting to greenwash the ethnic cleansing and genocide in Artsakh. We will not allow Azerbaijan to use #COP29 to cover up its crimes.

To kick off the #COP29 global day of action, young activists, students, and @AYFDCAni members began with a midnight protest at @JohnsHopkins in Washington DC — a school that will be hosting a COP29 panel with representatives of the Azerbaijani government — and demanded they stop “greenwashing” the genocide in Artsakh.

The youth then took their protest to Capitol Hill, demanding the return of all Armenian prisoners and hostages in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan’s entire economy relies on oil production, so why are they interested in hosting COP29 UN Global Climate Conference?

Because they are trying to show off their newly aquired land in Artsakh, covering our Churches with Mosques and our monuments and cross stones with destruction and fake history.

Because they are trying to cover up the Armenian political prisoners and POWs that they still illegally hold hostage for over a year now.

Because they are trying to cover their oil stained tracks — falsely claiming to shift to solar power.

Because they have less than 100 years of history which begins and ends with GENOCIDE.

Azerbaijan runs on oil, terrorism, and Genocide against neighboring Christians. To allow them them to greenwash their agenda is to be complicit in Genocide.
