.@abc@gobeckygo Please correct the article. Auschwitz was not a "Poland's camp" - it was a German Nazi concentration and extermination camp created by the SS in the Polish territory that was occupied and annexed by Nazi Germany.

The Germans established the camp in the Spring of 1940 for Polish prisoners. Over 140 thousand Polish men and women were incarcerated in Auschwitz. Nearly half perished or were murdered. As part of the Holocaust, the Germans also deported about 300 thousand Polish Jews to the camp. Many of the Roma who were murdered here also came from regions of the pre-war Polish Republic.
