We put my brother Kwame to rest over the weekend. I want to share words he wrote during our first year of medical school.
“The fragility of life is apparent when you walk the halls of a hospital and experience what might be the end of a journey for some patients.(1/4)
Deeply sad day. Rest in peace to the Rev. Jesse Jackson. A truly iconic man of the people. I’ve said this before, but his campaigns of 84’ and 88’ wouldn’t even be allowed on a democratic platform today. He ran on defunding militarism, advocating a Palestinian state, ending apartheid, economic populism and self determination for the global south. He ran on gay rights two decades before it would be institutionalized.
LeBron James once said he wanted to be the next Muhammad Ali. But by praising Israel, James chose billionaire comfort over Ali's moral courage, writes Dave Zirin. https://t.co/sRLySAAAmd
Imagine Joe DiMaggio or Joe Louis saying they hope they inspire the nazis in the 1940’s.
Just a warped reality we live in. These athletes stand for absolutely nothing.
This is from one of Israel’s oldest newspapers.
Miriam Adelson can spend $500 million on birthright trips and hasbara, but no amount of money will wipe the blood from Israel’s hands.
If Gavin Newsom is willing to do this with his own hands, to the most vulnerable, at the behest of rich people in San Francisco, he will definitely sacrifice working class and poor people as president on behalf billionaires like Bezos, Zuckerberg, Elon, and Bill Gates.
So pay them, you 48 year old billionaire who never had a job until 2025, who has the business school at UC Berkeley, the Superbowl stadium, a waterfront business district, and SF Museum of Gilded Age Mansions named after the family fortune he inherited.
Teachers are more skilled and educated than police, and provide a far more beneficial societal role.
There are just regular uniformed officers in SF making $500k and the only crisis with that is framed as not paying them enough

Pretty scary how working-class organizing in such a crucial, under-resourced line of work can be demonized by the media as anti-kid and anti-parent.
Around 6,000 San Francisco educators have launched a city-wide strike, the first in nearly 50 years.
The strike comes as educators and the school district failed to reach an agreement on Monday. Facing high costs and understaffing, the United Educators of San Francisco — a union which represents teachers, librarians, social workers and nurses — is demanding livable wages, fully funded healthcare, sanctuary schools, and resources for struggling families. According to those that BT has spoken to, the strike is receiving strong support from the community.
IMPERIALISM & JEFFREY ESPTEIN
Every new Jeffrey Epstein revelation makes it clear that this isn’t some isolated horror but rather a window into how the ruling class operates.
A child sex trafficking ring that doubled as an intelligence-gathering and blackmail operation doesn’t exist on the margins of power, it exists bc of power.
We see pedophilia as uniquely monstrous, and it is! But the same elite that enabled or participated in Epstein’s network also oversees a capitalist imperialist system that drops bombs on children, starves them through sanctions, justifies their mass death as strategic foreign policy and parasites on the global south to steal its resources while its children live in abject poverty.
Gaza. Iraq. Yemen. Sudan. Congo. Cuba. And on and on and on.
If a person is cool with mass murdering children abroad and sees their deaths as acceptable in exchange for power and profit, then OF COURSE they’re fine violating the bodies of working class little girls in America.
These crimes are connected.
This isn’t some freak scandal. This is the same ruling elite that murders children abroad and then acts shocked when we learn they were also abusing them behind closed doors.
Say it again: An elite that views children as disposable in war will see them as disposable EVERYWHERE.
Same people, same system, same total moral rot.
Lolololol who would have thought that an heir to a legacy of union busting and alleged forced labor practice would be supporting scab labor during an SFUSD strike.
His family historically believes that the working class do not deserve a living wage. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
While Steph Curry poses as an advocate for equality and justice, recently condemning ICE raids, he’s partnering with anti-Palestinian venture capitalist Shaun Maguire and investing tens of millions in firms runs by veteran spies of Israel’s unit 8200
America is a one party state, the business party. Brilliance of the system is the Dems, who are collaborators w/ the Repubs, as well as the rich donor classes, take up all the space for opposition in this country, so the voices of those who reject the status quo are seldom heard.
