Around 6,000 San Francisco educators have launched a city-wide strike, the first in nearly 50 years.

The strike comes as educators and the school district failed to reach an agreement on Monday. Facing high costs and understaffing, the United Educators of San Francisco — a union which represents teachers, librarians, social workers and nurses — is demanding livable wages, fully funded healthcare, sanctuary schools, and resources for struggling families. According to those that BT has spoken to, the strike is receiving strong support from the community.

Every new Jeffrey Epstein revelation makes it clear that this isn’t some isolated horror but rather a window into how the ruling class operates.

A child sex trafficking ring that doubled as an intelligence-gathering and blackmail operation doesn’t exist on the margins of power, it exists bc of power.

We see pedophilia as uniquely monstrous, and it is! But the same elite that enabled or participated in Epstein’s network also oversees a capitalist imperialist system that drops bombs on children, starves them through sanctions, justifies their mass death as strategic foreign policy and parasites on the global south to steal its resources while its children live in abject poverty.

Gaza. Iraq. Yemen. Sudan. Congo. Cuba. And on and on and on.

If a person is cool with mass murdering children abroad and sees their deaths as acceptable in exchange for power and profit, then OF COURSE they’re fine violating the bodies of working class little girls in America.

These crimes are connected.

This isn’t some freak scandal. This is the same ruling elite that murders children abroad and then acts shocked when we learn they were also abusing them behind closed doors.

Say it again: An elite that views children as disposable in war will see them as disposable EVERYWHERE.
