Any system that enables harm must be challenged and dismantled. Nigeria cannot continue to be a place where women are told to hide to stay safe.

Safety is a right, not a privilege.

Survivors must not be left to navigate this alone. We demand immediate protection, medical support, access to justice, and survivor-centred response systems.
If you know a survivor, be supportive: listen without judgment, respect their choices, and help them access care.

This is not an isolated incident. It reflects a deeply entrenched rape culture that normalises violence, emboldens perpetrators, and silences survivors.
It thrives where abuse is trivialised, survivors are blamed, communities stay silent, and perpetrators face no consequences.

We are deeply alarmed and outraged by reports and disturbing videos emerging from Ozoro, Delta State, showing coordinated sexual violence against women during a local festival.

This is unacceptable. This is criminal. This is Gender-based Violence.

Delighted to be a joint recipient of the 2025 International Anti-Corruption Excellence- ACE Lifetime Achievement / Outstanding Award.

It is encouraging to see that my resolute character, consistent work on transparency, accountability, good governance, institution-building, sound economic, human capital and extractive sector policies; and building values-anchored leaders that serve people are what the Award values and celebrates.

And of course, none of these works was or is ever done alone.

I always say that the fight against corruption and for good governance are inherently collective and so, this honor belongs to all citizens and reformers who insist that public power must serve the public good.

Anti-corruption and good governance works are not just about individuals, but ultimately about building institutions and norms that outlive any one person.

Grateful to God, my unforgettable parents, my incomparable husband, our wonderful daughter and sons; and my loving siblings for being integral to the journey that brought me this honor.
