Nothing is wrong with Lagos rain
We cause problem by eliminating standing defenders(trees) for urbanization
When we reduce biodiversity; we increase disaster in diversity and we see variety of causality in the city

Thank you to every follower and partner who engaged, protected, and spoke for #nature with us in 2025.
Together, we nurtured forests, celebrated biodiversity, and grew hope.
We value you. God bless you.
Here’s to a greener new year 🌍💚

🌳🪵 BUYERS BEWARE!!
A recent #Hydrology#Report on the consequences of removal of the forest cover of #Ogunpa#Forest#Reserve and the sand-filling of the Ogunpa Forest Reserve #Spring and the #floodplain of the Ogunpa River,
comes with LOUD WARNINGS...
🌳🪵 One of the early warning signs that portend dire consequences following deforestation, are EXTREMELY STRONG WINDS.
🪵🌳 Residents on Dejo Oyelese Street in Old #Bodija, which forms one of the boundaries of #Ogunpa#Forest#Reserve, have started experiencing these ALREADY.
My 4th PhD paper explored how satellite remote sensing can enhance our understanding of bird diversity in Afrotropical urban and non-urban habitats. We found that the Modified Chlorophyll Absorption Ratio Index (MCARI) and the Normalized Difference Water Index II (NDWI2) are more effective indicators of avian diversity than the commonly used NDVI. Check out our findings and share your thoughts and this post!

Today is #WorldSoilDay 🌱🤎
Healthy soils act like a sponge, preventing floods & ensuring food security.
Since 2005, our 🇪🇺 @LIFEprogramme has financed 74 soil-related projects worth €183 million!

🌳🌳 These efforts are crucial for :
* MAINTAINING #BIODIVERSITY
* PRESERVING #ECOSYSTEMS
* PREVENTING #GLOBAL#TEMPERATURE#RISE
🌳🌳 Let's spread the word!
🌳🌳 It's time to enlighten those who are uninformed and to address the concerns of climate skeptics!
🌳🪵 As the topography is now, the much wider concrete channels passing through Old Bodija are like the mouth of a funnel.
🌳🪵 And the very much narrower, unchannelized Ogunpa River crossing the #Ogunpa#Forest#Reserve in it's natural state is like the stem of the funnel.
when the channelization project architects stopped the concrete-lined channels at the border of OFR and DejoOyelese Str., it was under the assumption that over 52ha of tree-rich, water-sinking, flood buffer forest surrounding the next segment of OgunpaRiver, would remain intact
